Family and friends are a wonderful thing!
Look at this fantastic stand up card my good friend Violette made for me yesterday!
Here are a few pictures of our cake creations!
Duran and Gramma decorated the chocolate 'tire' cake in green butter cream icing and dark chocolate chips. Great job team!
I decorated my two layer cake. One layer was dark chocolate fudge while the other layer was white transformed into a funky blue with a little colouring.
I had my first attempt at decorating using rolled fondant icing. I think I spent an hour kneading the colouring into the fondant with my hands. One great lesson I learned was... wear plastic gloves if possible. My hands were stained purple for the rest of the evening (ha ha).The other lesson I learned is that fondant icing is not as easy as it looks.
Therefore I still need a lot of practice!
