Sketch Pad Doodles - An Artists version of 'brainstorming'
I am not normally a 'doodler'. I usually do my art by taking a permanent black felt to my canvas of choice (clothing, canvas, paper, etc) and what ever comes out is meant to be.
Maybe my doodling is an after effect of being totally surrounded by Artists for 2 days.
To my husbands shock last Saturday night.... He walked into my art room to discover me painting over a piece I started a week ago. He actually kind of stammered and stated that he had never seen me end a piece of artwork so that I may start from scratch.
I think part of the reason was that I have learned to not waste my art supplies. Before if I really did not like a piece I would just put it away in a closet and possibly never finish it. (I do have a few in there right now, but I think it would take too much primer to cover up the dark colours I have used on them in years past.)
Or maybe I am just growing as an Artist and do not want to settle for less than my best. That sounds like it could end up being a stressful road ahead (and, yes, we do learn from our mistakes, don't we?).
Who knows where the future takes us. I think I will try and steer clear of the stress and just enjoy the journey.
keep smiling & creating!
