Kids ArtFest 2005 !

I spent the last few days with my family out at their summer home.
This gave me a wonderful opportunity to do some artwork with my niece & nephews!
I brought along small canvases, wooden light switch plates, my acrylic supply, paint brushes and lots of glitter.
We had two art sessions and a fantastic time.

When the kids took a break for a dip in the lake, I painted my own light switch plate.

I have never done an art session with kids before. What a wonderful experience. They are so free and not afraid to try anything.
My oldest Nephew did a mixed media painting with pencil, acrylic and felt pens.
My Niece would look (secretly) around the room for her inspirations and then make the image her own. She first did a singing flower (a girl after my own heart), then a Spongebob light switch plate, followed by a larger canvas which is still in the works.

My youngest Nephew would start off in the footsteps of his sister and then take it even farther. He covered every inch of his canvas with paint including the back and the frame itself. His light switch began as Patrick from Spongebob, then turned into a zebra fish. Once the glitter glue came out, he went to town and seems to have turned it into a X-mas tree 'extreme'.
They did a great job and I cannot wait to paint with them again!

I hope you are all having a great summer.
Talk to you in a few days!

Keep smiling, creating & laughing,
Nicci
